19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hard surfaces
A revitalized Medvedev claimed his maiden title for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.
Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has endured a challenging period, achieving just one win at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally separating with long-time coach Gilles Cervara.
Presently collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set win over challenger Moutet.
This marks his initial title since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard surface since spring of that year.
The win also means Medvedev has secured twenty-one titles at 21 different tournaments.
"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my children at once, so to get a title is particularly special," said ranked player the champion.
"This title is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had been defeated in his previous six finals, featuring in that event earlier this year.
The player's defensive strategy and recurring emotional displays on court had caused some to wonder if his capacity to play at the elite level was over.
However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and perform assertively, supported by an better service.
He came back from a deficit in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, securing 4 of the last five points to take the lead.
The pair swapped break points in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to push for a third set.
Moutet saved 4 early break points in a competitive third set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to serve for the match.
Appropriately, the winner earned the win with a rally at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
