Automobiles in Germany's City Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Police Confirm

Officers stated they were alerted by a individual who noticed a car in Hanau smeared with reddish fluid

Around fifty vehicles have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Vehicles, exterior walls and postboxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.

Police state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a resident noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish liquid.

The fluid had been applied in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Officers then found numerous other marked cars and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under regulations outlawing the public display of Nazi symbols.

Police report initial examinations indicate the substance was most likely blood from a person.

"At present there remains no indication as to its source; officials are presently not informed of any physical harm in relation with the event," they commented.

Municipal representatives announced they were trying "to solve the incident" and have appealed to the residents for details.

An important political figure stated the attack made him without words and needed to be solved rapidly.

"This event strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the right-wing violent incident five years ago," he posted on a platform, referring to the killing of nine individuals by a shooter aiming at individuals of immigrant origin in February 2020.
